Approvals for vehicle-assisted launching sites, Novenber 2007:
The editors have received no updates from and official source during 2007.
Many officials have been replaced. No decisions have been made.

Western Cape Sites

In spite of receiving information before publication to the contrary,
Only 6 of 23 applications have received approval.
The only approved sites in the Western Cape, are Elands Bay,
37, 40, 66, 75, and 118, and proclaimed Harbour Sites. 
Western Cape National Parks sites appear to be functioning although 
only approval for Swartvlei has been made.
Confusion has been created because payment was not included with some applications.
These applications have received no processing.
Overberg withdrew all of its applications last year (2004). 
Outside the City of Cape Town area, and the West Coast very few applications have been recived.
However, certaim Western Cape sites designated 'Applied for' may be operational whilst 
the application is being actively processed. (This is not applicable to other provinces.)

Eastern Cape Sites
Approvals notified since publication are
7, 33, 38, 53, 56 (see Additions below), 64, 67

Kwa-Zulu Natal Sites
Nil However, changes are expected relating to re-licensing of some sites.

Category 3

Site Additions & Amendments:

A. (between Western Cape sites 28 and 29)
Milnerton Lighthouse slipway is not used by any interest group. 
It is closed to vehicle access. Licences have not been sought.
Milnerton lagoon slipway was closed due to pollution at the time of writing.
No motorised craft allowed, so application for vehicle access has not been made.

B. (between Western Cape sites 43 and 44)
Zandvlei slipways do not require a licence for vehicular-assisted launching.
No powerboating is allowed on the vlei. 
There is no vehicle access to the following launch sites:
Imperial Yacht Club
Zandvlei Canoe Club
Zandvlei Sea Scout Base
Zandvlei Municipal Slip

C. Eastern Cape
